Courses offered: University of Southampton operates a University Led route. The secondary PGCE offers a Southampton City Pathway and a Salisbury Pathway for individuals who are keen to experience teaching in these specific geographical regions.

We offer a highly practical course through placements with our local partner schools and additional intensive practice experiences throughout the year.

The teaching you receive is informed by the latest pedagogical research and draws on expertise from one of the UK’s top university Schools of Education.  

The Southampton PGCE has a focus on health and wellbeing, both of teachers and their pupils, and offers high levels of support to student teachers. 

The programme offers broad and varied experiences which are enriched through our wealth of partnerships both locally and internationally, including the opportunity to teach in Kenya and work with local partners such as Sea City Museum, Historic Dockyard, Marwell Zoo, National Archives and the Holocaust Education Centre.
